Note to readers:

Thank y'all for visiting, although our blog is now discontinued, it's not too far fetched to expect another blog from either Kate or I in the next year or two. Until then, happy downloading!

If you have any questions or if there's an album on here that you can't find anywhere else and you've GOT to have it, send me an email at Kingsofsquidma@Gmail.com

An email I recieved today

Blogger has been notified, according to the terms of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), that certain content in your blog infringes upon the copyrights of others. The URL(s) of the allegedly infringing post(s) may be found at the end of this message.

The notice that we received from the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) and the record companies it represents, with any personally identifying information removed, will be posted online by a service called Chilling Effects at http://www.chillingeffects.org
. We do this in accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). Please note that it may take Chilling Effects up to several weeks to post the notice online at the link provided.

The IFPI is a trade association that represents over 1,400 major and independent record companies in the US and internationally who create, manufacture and distribute sound recordings (the "IFPI Represented Companies").

The DMCA is a United States copyright law that provides guidelines for online service provider liability in case of copyright infringement. We are in the process of removing from our servers the links that allegedly infringe upon the copyrights of others. If we did not do so, we would be subject to a claim of copyright infringement, regardless of its merits. See http://www.educause.edu/Browse/645?PARENT_ID=254 for more information about the DMCA, and see http://www.google.com/dmca.html for the process that Blogger requires in order to make a DMCA complaint.

Blogger can reinstate these posts upon receipt of a counter notification pursuant to sections 512(g)(2) and 3) of the DMCA. For more information about the requirements of a counter notification and a link to a sample counter notification, see http://www.google.com/dmca.html#counter.

Please note that repeated violations to our Terms of Service may result in further remedial action taken against your Blogger account. If you have legal questions about this notification, you should retain your own legal counsel. If you have any other questions about this notification, please let us know.

Sincerely,

The Blogger Team

I suppose it was stupid on my part to post anything released on a Major.

On a related note, any artist, label, hell, even music fan, can request ANY download content removed. I, in no way, am unwilling to comply to requests for removal. My goal for this blog is not to help people steal music, it's instead to share music. The same way people take their friends to different restaurants you know? You take them there so that if they like it, they'll start going there and maybe take some friends of their own. I try the hardest any broke college student can to support artists and pay legitimately for music, but I also understand where musicians are coming from.

It's okay though, TYT will live on as long as we aren't shut down completely by blogger.

And even though I don't necessarily like how this situation was handled, a label's action shouldn't reflect an artist's view. I say, if you are able, go out and buy the new Erykah Badu. It's such a sick record. The song Soldier is one of the best tracks I've heard this year.

But most importantly support all of your favorite artists. I try to attend a concert or two a month and I try to buy around two or three albums every month too. Lastly, I just wanna say that Blogger was also really cool with how they handled this and I greatly appreciate their hosting. Without it we'd be nothing!

what ever fuck these people. When you "Steal" something, you take it. When you pirate, you are not taking any physical thing from any body. You simply make a copy of it and enjoy it for your self.

An artist being against some one pirating their music, is like a red neck being against a mexican learning to speak english.

FUCK THAT SHIT.

Hey there,

We got a takedown notice at Ugly Talented last month. Not sure what tune they objected to but it could have been a James Brown tune.
