Thank y'all for visiting, although our blog is now discontinued, it's not too far fetched to expect another blog from either Kate or I in the next year or two. Until then, happy downloading!
If you have any questions or if there's an album on here that you can't find anywhere else and you've GOT to have it, send me an email at Kingsofsquidma@Gmail.com
Sorry for the lack of posts. We've been having lovely winter weather here in Kentucky the past couple of days. Henry hasn't had internet the past week, and my power has been out the past two days. I'm borrowing from my brother at the moment. As soon as I think of something to upload I'll let ya know.
Just for your information, this compilation including many of my favorite artists has leaked. However, I could not morally be okay with posting the album on the blog due to where the money is going to for albums purchased.
I can tell you though, that these songs are amazing, and as soon as this is available for purchase, I will be buying a copy of it. You can listen to one track from the album a day at the Dark Was The Night myspace. Also, you can check over at YouAintNoPicasso, a fellow lexingtonian's blog, for who the artist is each day.
RIYL: older MMJ, music made on omnichords, heartbreakin' men, alternate versions of other MMJ songs, reverb, simple guitar strums and harmonies

Also, for those that missed the previous post about this (or failed to download it the first time), do yourself a favor and download this My Morning Jacket documentary. And thank The Steam Engine blog for the link.
RIYL: genius songwriting, the perfect blend of folk and country, M. Ward's production, albums with Buddy Holly covers, music that your parents would probably enjoy just as much as you
RIYL: paw tracks, songs about Kate (I, for one, do), psychedelic experimental lo-fi pop, Animal Collective, bands with great tour names (i.e. Thanks mom, I'm dead!)

If you want more I also have: Worn Copy Haunted Graffiti
I figured with the spare time I have over the long weekend, I'd throw together a sampler of some music I hope you'll enjoy. It's very true in the sense of being a sampler, as that the songs have no common theme, genre, or ideas even. Don't be afraid to try it!
